John began his investment career in 1991 and joined Stifel Independent Advisors in 2022. Prior to joining Stifel Independent Advisors, he worked at Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor for more than 30 years. With his drive to understand and best serve each of his clients, he employs financial strategies to guide each client in pursuing their specific financial goals.
John graduated from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, and holds Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses. He earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst®, Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor®, and Certified Retirement Plans Specialist™ designations, which are important assets that contribute to his work with his corporate and individual clients.
With these designations, John has successfully completed coursework surrounding complex portfolio construction, investment analysis, and comprehensive wealth management in accordance to clients’ philanthropic mission, investment philosophy, and financial goals.
John lives in Rock Hall, Maryland, with his wife, Patty, their children, Noah and Ellie, and their pets. Outside of the office, John is actively involved as a certified principal race officer with U.S. Sailing and volunteers his services at Rock Hall Yacht Club. He is active with his children’s sports and coaches lacrosse and ice hockey.
